Rebecca Nofer

MS, OTR/L

Rebecca (Becca, she/her) grew up in the Chicagoland area where she found a love and joy for working with children through teaching, volunteer work, and at her summer camp experiences in Wisconsin. Her love of play and supporting others translated into a career in occupational therapy. Rebecca studied at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY where she got her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in occupational therapy.

Becca has a passion for working with people while using a science backed approach to support clients to live to their fullest potential. She has background training in the Sensory processing/Integration Reasoning interactive Tool (SpIRiT), The STEPPSI: A Tool for Effective Clinical Reasoning, Learning Without Tears, SOS Approach to Feeding, the Alert Program, iLs/Unyte’s Safe and Sound Protocol, SAFE Place Approach, Dyadic Developmental Practice, Psychotherapy & Parenting (DDP) Level I, Therapeutic Listening: Listening with the Whole Body, DIR Floortime 101 and 201.

In her everyday work, Becca interacts with her local community through one to one therapeutic sessions with clients, as well as working in DFX’s Clinic in the Community program. There, she supports educators to increase their understanding of student’s individualized differences relating to child development. Becca is also DFX’s Learning Coordinator, supporting DFX’s clinical team to grow in knowledge, while also supporting the DFX Learning Programs, supporting interns, students, and those looking to learn from DFX’s work.

Rebecca loves being part of the DFX team and wholeheartedly believes in the “Therapy that Fits” approach. She feels supported in being a lifelong learner, digging deeper into the field of occupational therapy to support children, families, schools, and community members locally and around the globe. For fun, Rebecca enjoys going on hikes, cooking, exploring new places, listening to live music, and hanging out at home with her husband and dog, drinking a cup of tea."
