Intern at DFX
DFX welcomes new interns each semester including the fall, spring and summer. Our internships provide a highly educational opportunity for any student looking for a hands-on experience in a multi-disciplinary nonprofit pediatric clinic. We’re looking for highly-motivated students who are eager to grow and support our mission!
Visualizing the Experience
By observing and assisting therapists and shadowing them in client sessions, you will learn about the fields of Occupational, Speech, and Mental Health Therapies.

Attend weekly clinical learning sessions

Learn about child development and how to best support their needs

Grow in your comfort level with child interaction

Have opportunities to build skills in clinic administration and operations

Understand how DFX’s research contributes to treatment models
Logistics:
-
Internships occur each semester including the Fall, Spring, and Summer
-
Programs typically last 10-15 weeks, depending on the intern and therapist schedules
-
Interns are required to attend their DFX internship a minimum of 10 hours per week, often split between 2-3 weekdays

Preferred hours of attendance are 9am - 2pm on Monday through Thursdays and 9am-12pm on Fridays
Internship Tasks Include:

6 hours per week of clinical shadowing therapists per week

Weekly clinic upkeep and maintenance
-
Clinical projects and administration jobs

Joining 1+ staff learning meetings per week

Upkeep of HIPPA guidelines and patient information management
