Stephanie Crookston has dedicated over 15 years to advancing mental health, suicide prevention, ADA coordination, and supported employment across Colorado. Holding a Master’s degree in Behavioral Psychology, she began her career at WellPower (formerly MHCD) and later transitioned to UCHealth, where she currently serves as the Program Manager for Project SEARCH—a nationally recognized school-to-work transition program for students with disabilities.
Under Stephanie’s leadership, Project SEARCH has expanded to an additional four UCHealth hospitals, from Greeley to Colorado Springs. She collaborates closely with school districts, families, employers, and state and national partners to help students achieve competitive, integrated employment in roles they love—whether at UCHealth or in their local communities.
Stephanie’s Aurora-based program boasts a 93% employment success rate, with over 75 graduates thriving in meaningful careers. Her commitment to lifelong support led to the creation of alumni initiatives, including the celebrated Travel Crew, which has taken graduates on transformative journeys to Belize, Ireland, Scotland, and Italy.
Stephanie joined the DFX Board in March 2024, bringing her passion for inclusion, innovation, and collaboration to the organization’s mission.
